About the inventor - Michael Weir | |||||||||||||
|
Background It is while I was studying towards my Chemistry BSc that I registered my first patent, the ‘Self-watering Plant Pot’. My housemates and I kept an yucca in our front room, which withered on countless occasions due to our lethargic watering habits. It was only during an environmental chemistry lecture that I realised how condensed atmospheric water vapour could save our little friend. Thus, in designing a plant pot with an inbuilt dehumidifier power by solar cells, I had stumbled into the realms of being an inventor.
